Complicated qualifying in Motegi for Remy Gardner

 In News

Remy Gardner and Tetsuta Nagashima have completed today the qualifying sessions of the Motul Grand Prix of Japan under very complicated weather conditions due to the heavy rain that has poured at the Twin Ring Motegi Circuit.

After some complications suffered during the free practices yesterday, Remy had to participate in the Q1 of Moto2 where he has achieved the fastest lap that has allowed him to pass onto the Q2. The Australian has noticed strong vibrations on his tyre that forced him to enter to the garage to change it. Unfortunately, Remy didn’t have time to make any lap with this tyre and he will start from tenth position on the grid.

The Moto2 race will take place tomorrow, 20th of October, at 13:20h (local time)

“Today has been a difficult day. We were so good in FP3 and Q1. We put a new tyre for the Q2, the first lap was good but on the second lap the tyre was vibrating and it was trying to high side me at every corner. I stopped to change to slicks but we run out of time in the end. It is a shame we got a bad wet tyre and unfortunately we start from tent, I think we could have done top 5 today. It is a shame but anyways the race is tomorrow!”
