Remy closes solid Magny-Cours weekend with P13 in Race 2
The GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team wrapped up the weekend at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, France, with Remy Gardner and teammate Dominique Aegerter securing more valuable points on the final day of racing.
After a solid Warm-Up session, Remy and Aegerter pushed hard in the Tissot Superpole Race. Starting from 9th and 12th on the grid, both riders faced a tricky start. In the 10-lap sprint, they remained in the fight for the top nine until the very end, with Aegerter finishing 10th and Remy crossing the line in 11th.
For the final feature race of the weekend, the pair lined up 12th and 13th on the grid. Both made strong starts, gaining positions on the opening lap. Over the 21-lap contest, they maintained competitive pace, with the two-time WorldSSP Champion Aegerter finishing tenth, while Remy brought home more points with 13th place.
Remy Gardner
– Superpole Race: P11 / Race 2: P13“Unfortunately, in the sprint race we couldn’t hold our position early on, even though our pace was good in the closing stages. That meant starting one row further back for Race 2, which made things a bit tougher. We tried to work our way through the field, kept a consistent pace, but it wasn’t quite enough to gain more places. Now we’ll focus on Aragon and take some time to rest.”
