Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 achieved pole position for the Styrian Grand Prix thanks to Remy Gardner. The Australian rider proved to be unstoppable, heading the combined Free Practice timesheets and Q2. Tomorrow Remy will take off from the front of the grid for the third time this season, and the sixth time in his career.

FP3 in the intermediate category was contested under optimal weather conditions, something that the Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 riders used to push to the fullest and improve on their lap times from Friday. Remy took a step forward in the final stages and set the best time of the session, stopping the clock at 1:28.680 on his 16th lap of 19.

The Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 duo entered Q2 directly, thanks to their great work in Free Practice. In qualifying, Remy proved to be one step ahead of the rest of the field, taking his third pole position of the year with a time of 1:28.668.

The 25-lap Moto2 Styrian Grand Prix race takes place on Sunday at 12:20 PM CEST.

#87 REMY GARDNER
“I’m very happy to have achieved this time, because after a five-week break, we have managed to feel good again. Today things came relatively easily, but I am sure that tomorrow will be much more challenging. Regardless of whether it rains or not, the plan will be the same: to get as many points as possible. If we have to ride in the wet, we will make the most of the warm-up to find a good feeling and gain the necessary confidence that allows us to give everything in the race.”
