Tech3 Racing Team rider Remy Gardner commenced his home race with a solid display of determination in front of his fans. The young gun endured a tricky FP1 session, whereby he fell, but he picked himself up to finish the afternoon practice only 0.288 behind his teammate.

The action recommences tomorrow with FP3 at 11:55 local time, or 02:55 in central Europe.

“I had a bit of a moment in FP1 when I came over the hill, and I’m not really sure what happened, but the bike got sideways yet I managed to hang on to it. However, I couldn’t stop before the wall so I had to lay it down. That put us on the back foot, and then after that, we had some issues with the rear of the bike and I didn’t feel entirely comfortable. It wasn’t a great start, but we regrouped for FP2 and changed the setting a lot, which allowed us to make a positive step forward. I am pretty happy and I did all of my laps on my own. It was slightly harder this afternoon due to the wind, yet I think that to do the lap time that we did was not too bad. We are getting closer and we will be ready tomorrow.”
