Tough Qualifying for Remy at Valencia’s 2018 finale

Tech3 Racing’s Remy Gardner delivered a strong performance in FP3 this morning. The fast Australian was able to improve on his Friday’s best time by incredible 1.471 seconds to grab a great ninth position on wet tarmac at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo. In Qualifying the track was dry, therefore Gardner took some time to get used to it and eventually finished in P17 in order to start the ultimate race of the season at 14.20 local time tomorrow from the sixth row.

Position: 17th – Time: 1’36.595 – Laps: 21

“Unfortunately we didn’t get the position we wanted in Qualifying. The times were so close, I was really pushing in the end. I think on my first run I stayed out one lap too long and I lost that last lap to really perfect everything. Now we start P17, but tomorrow it looks wet and I know that we are good in the wet, so there is no reason why we can’t come home with a top 10 and finish the year strong. I’m just sorry to my guys, I couldn’t put it in the top 10 on the grid, but the weekend is not over yet. We keep working for tomorrow.”
